Merch shipping prices

I have been wanting to buy the camo hat for a while and just saw that it was back in stock. Put it in my cart and then saw the shipping was more expensive than the hat. Is this a glitch or something? I have bought merch from US artists before but usually it’s never more than about $30 for shipping. It’s to australia btw
